Bite-size tech: Mercedes W07 'S' duct outlet

Mercedes has perhaps the largest package of upgrades at the Canadian GP and whilst we covered many of them, one that initially eluded us was the increase in the 'S' ducts outlet size.

The alteration is not a complex one, with the vanity panel that sits on top the chassis swapped for one with a curvature rather than a flat top.

The change comes after Mercedes made the switch to a pointer nose tip in Barcelona, which once again features on the W07 this time out.

This change should allow a little more airflow to be collated by the under nose inlets, with that airflow ejected out the top of the chassis to draw nearby airflow, ordinarily detaching from the surface, back to the surface to improve performance.
