With four races left to go in the 1998 Formula One World Championship, Benson and Hedges Jordan aims to consolidate its fifth place standing by continuing its run of points scoring races. Jordan has won points in each race since the French Grand Prix, marking a strong turn around in the teams performance. Eddie Jordan reflects on Jordans return to form: It is not easy to come back virtually from the dead which is where we were at Monaco and in my opinion, the way the team in the drawing office has turned the car around is one of the success stories of the season. This achievement would not have been possible without the developments made by Mugen-Honda and Goodyear, nor without the resources from our sponsors. In years gone by, Jordan would not have been able to make the necessary improvements simply because we would not have had the financial backing, but now, thanks to the improvement in our marketing strategy and the growth in our profile, we have the budgets to be able to keep moving forward. The way Jordan has improved over the season has made 1998 a very exciting year for us. In past years we have started the season competitively and then lost the edge somewhat by the second half of the season. This year has been quite the reverse. Back in March, when we were three seconds behind McLaren in the first Grand Prix, I never dreamed we would have been able to close the gap the way we have. Now we are able to travel to each race knowing we can be competitive. It is great to be able to think, which teams will we out-perform this weekend rather than worrying about keeping our heads above water. Racing has become fun again! Damon Hill has finished fourth in the last two races, tantalisingly close to a place on the podium. If we keep knocking on the door, he says, we will eventually finish in the top three. Commenting on the circuit at Spa, Damon says, Spa is a circuit which gives you the sense of going somewhere rather than just going round in a tight circle. It gives you a feeling of being let lose in an F1 car its fantastic! It is a relatively long lap and you get so far away from the pits when you get to Les Combes that you get a sense of being on your own which you dont get on other circuits. Eau Rouge is the corner which is unlike any other corner on any other circuit. It is an awe inspiring section of the track and the part which gives you a real kick when you drive through it.
