Barcelona, 21st March Circuit: Catalunya Circuit, 4.727 km
Driver: Luca Badoer, F1-2000, chassis no. 201 & F2001, chassis no. 208.
Weather: air temperature 17/24 C, track 18/34 C, cloudy then windy with clear skies.

Second day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro at the Barcelona circuit. Luca Badoer took to the track at 9.20 at the wheel of the F1-2000, to continue with the electronics testing begun yesterday. Then, the Italian drove the F2001 for the first time, as the car made its first appearance on the Catalunya Circuit. With this car, Badoer worked on finding the best set-up to suit this track. The test driver switched between the two cars several times. In total, he completed 85 laps; 55 with the F1-2000 and 30 with the F2001. The best time in the world championship winning car was 1.21.047, while in the new car, Badoer managed a 1.21.822.

Badoer had this to say about his first drive in the F2001. "It felt really good straight away. You can tell the car is basically sound from all points of view; chassis, engine and driveability. For the next few days I will continue trying some new electronic solutions on the F1-2000 here in Barcelona, while Schumacher will drive the F2001."

Testing ended at 18h00 and will continue tomorrow morning, when Luca Badoer will be joined by Michael Schumacher.
