The second test of the Formula One World Championship pre-season has kicked off at Barcelona in Spain under sunny skies, with plenty of running expected on the first of the four days.

Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton is in action for Mercedes, with Jerez pacesetters Ferrari also boasting a world champion on track in Kimi Raikkonen.

Jenson Button is the third champ on track, as Honda bids to fault-fix its thus-far recalcitrant Honda V6 hybrid turbo.

Three-time race winner Daniel Ricciardo will be hoping for more from Renault at this test, as Red Bull seeks to regain its F1 titles.

Precocious teenaged talent Max Verstappen drives for Toro Rosso, who racked up the second-highest total of laps at Jerez. At Williams, test driver Susie Wolff gets a chance behind the wheel.

Mercedes reserve driver Pascal Wehrlein is in action for Force India, which is running its 2014 car with its old-spec nose.

Sauber has Felipe Nasr in action, with a slightly revised colourscheme, while Pastor Maldonado has already caused the first red flag of the day due to an issue with his Lotus-Mercedes E23.
