It's the final day of testing at the Mugello circuit for Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda, and an improvement in the weather conditions has meant a productive day for the team.

While the heavy rain yesterday may have hampered the programme somewhat, today has seen both Takuma Sato and Olivier Panis complete a comprehensive third day of testing at the track. Once again, the focus has been on both preparation for the remaining three races of the season, and on development work for 2002. Anthony Davidson also joined the team for his first ever circuit test.

Summing up the past three days, Chief Engineer Steve Farrell said:

"The main objectives of this test were three fold. The first aim was general car set up for the remaining races this year. Secondly, we have been introducing development parts for the 2002 design, and thirdly Anthony Davidson has joined us for his first introduction to the circuit test programme."

"Day one was a very impressive start from Anthony who appeared to be very comfortable with his first taste of Formula One. His day was spoiled a little by a small mistake that punished him very hard, but we could see that he clearly has tremendous potential and we look forward to him doing more work for us during the remaining tests this year."

"For days two and three Takuma took over the car to share the remaining work, and he was joined by Olivier at the track. In general we've been encouraged by the results of this test. We've had some minor problems but feel we've made progress towards our competitiveness in the remaining races."
