Bridgestone will not supply BAR with tyres in 2004, it was announced on November 25th, and the manufacturer and team have amicably ended their partnership. BAR requested to be released from its contract with Bridgestone back in October and has now confirmed a supply of Michelin tyres for 2004.

"Whilst Bridgestone is naturally disappointed not to continue its working relationship with the BAR formula one team, we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours," Director of Bridgestone Motorsport, Hiroshi Yasukawa said in a statement.

BAR team principal David Richards added: "We would like to thank Bridgestone for the excellent technical partnership we have enjoyed with them over the past five years. We wish them well for the 2004 Championship and beyond."

Due to start winter testing at Valencia today, BAR will run with Michelin tyres from the outset. The team will have Jenson Button and Takuma Sato on duty and will test the BAR 04 Concept car, which is billed as an interim step towards the BAR Honda 006. The chassis will feature black and silver livery.
