AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX - Zeltweg, 24th July 1998 FREE PRACTICE
SHINJI NAKANO Chassis 04 19th laps 43 time: 1:16,171 "I like this track, it suits my driving style. In both sessions I had some problems with the braking, due to locking both wheels, front and rear. Anyway, we are working hard in order to solve this problem for tomorrow's qualifying."
ESTEBAN TUERO Chassis 05 21st laps 28 time: 1:16,582 "After a very demanding first session, when I finished 25 laps, I ended my second session after only 2 laps, when I spun at the exit of the first turn, right in front of a McLaren. I hope I will be able to drive a bit more tomorrow, in order to know this track better."
GUSTAV BRUNNER - Technical Director: "Even if we are a bit conditioned by the hot weather, which is unusual in this period for Zeltweg, we are working hard to find the best set-up for this track. Do I consider the Austrian Grand Prix my 'home race'? Well, I feel fine here, of course, but I must say I feel much more at 'home' when we are in Imola."
TREVOR KNOWLES - (Ford Cosworth) Support engineer: "After Silverstone we had some new parts fitted to the engines, to improve the reliability and we ran them today without any problems. We were worried about the heat but the engine temperatures have been fine and no concerns today at all."
Spare-car (chassis 03) is prepared for Shinji Nakano.
