The Mild Seven Renault F1 Team began the Australian Grand Prix weekend with a productive day's work at Melbourne's Albert Park circuit. Working on race preparations, both drivers completed a pleasing day's work.

Jarno Trulli, 10 th , 1:30.298:

"For me, it was a good first day with my new team. In spite of difficult conditions this morning, and some light rain during the afternoon, we worked very well and improved the balance of the car during both sessions. Overall, a very positive day."

Jenson Button, 15 th , 1:30.580:

"Everything went very well today, and we managed some good running in preparation for the race. Although the weather posed some problems, we know which direction we want to go with setup, and I'm pleased with what we achieved."

Mike Gascoyne, Technical Director of Renault F1 Team UK, said:

"A good, trouble-free first day for the team. Despite the weather, we completed our race preparations without any problems. The drivers are both happy with the balance of the car, and we are looking forward to qualifying tomorrow."

Denis Chevrier, Operations Manager for Renault F1 Team France, commented:

"A satisfying day's work for the engine team, running in conditions close to those of the race. We made detail adjustments and tested different engine maps, and achieved -good progress for the race."
