The FIA are already collecting pocket money when the 2002 season is only a day old, two drivers have been given fines for speeding in the pitlane.

Sauber's Nick Heidfeld was clocked over the limit in the pitlane and fined $1,250, swiftly followed by new Arrows signing Heinz-Harald Frentzen doing the same. Frentzen was fined $2,500 so presumably he was even more over the limit than Heidfeld.

Frentzen finished 19th for Arrows in yesterday's free practice, Heidfeld fifth for Sauber.
