Following an appeal by the Arrows F1 and European Minardi teams, the race stewards at the Belgian Grand Prix have ruled that the two teams' drivers will be permitted to take part in Sunday's Grand Prix.

Jos Verstappen (Arrows-Asiatech), Fernando Alonso (Minardi-European), Enrique Bernoldi (Arrows-Asiatech) and Tarso Marques (Minardi-European) all failed to set times within 107% of the pole time.

But with the track drying rapidly at the end of the qualifying session, and Juan Montoya setting a blistering 1:52.072 time -- more than 2.5 seconds ahead of World Champion, Michael Schumacher -- the stewards agreed that these qualified as exceptional circumstances.

As a result, the four drivers will start Sunday's race at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit from the 19th through 22nd positions.
