The official entry list for the 2003 Formula One Championship has been released and Arrows are absent from it. The team submitted an application but the FIA declined to accept it, for undisclosed reasons: "An application to compete in the 2003 Championship was also received from Arrows Grand Prix International but was declined for reasons which have been communicated to the Arrows team," read the FIA statement.

There has been no word from Arrows since it revealed a German based investor was in negotiations and although the team cleared some of its financial debts, the creditors are still lining up.

Former drivers Jos Verstappen and Heinz-Harald Frentzen are thought to be amongst those seeking compensation as well as Cosworth for monies due from engine supplies this season.

So only ten teams will take part in the 2003 season, although the named drivers are subject to superlicense and Concord Agreement regulations. Nominated drivers may be changed up until 6th March 2003.
