Alonso cleared to fly to Malaysia, Spanish media claims

Fernando Alonso has passed medical tests in UK on Sunday, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Both Marca and AS report that the McLaren star has passed the tests concerning both short- and long-term memory, as well as reflex checks, at Cambridge University in England.

There has been no comment so far from Alonso or McLaren.

Alonso suffered concussion during a crash in testing at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya in February, and spent three days in hospital. He was forced to miss the season-opening Australian Grand Prix while he recovered.

Alonso, 33, will now have to clear further tests in Malaysia, where he will be examined by FIA doctor Jean-Charles Piette for his so-called 'impact test', in which his cognitive skills and reactions will be compared with his earlier 'control' results.
