For 60% of the Formula 1 field, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was a farewell - either to their current employer or to F1 itself, at least for now. Some exited with their heads held high, others showed with their performance why it's time to move on.
A superb qualifying lap, a good start, a patient stint at the back of the lead pack after an early stop and a seemingly effortless managing of the gap the slightly faster Vettel whittled away at in the closing stages added up to an 11th victory for Hamilton. The circumstances mean it wasn't his best win of the season, but the struggles of Bottas show how precarious things can be if you don't get everything right.
