And here's your comprehensive report from that session. Now, the results are subject to change because Max Verstappen has been called to the stewards as they review a potential yellow-flag infringement.
We'll be back for the sprint race at 17:00 local tomorrow.
So Russell's final lap of 1m31.276s puts him P2 behind Verstappen. Antonelli only P7 with a 1m31.849s.
So the jury very much still out on the upgraded Mercedes. We note that Antonelli reverted to the old-spec front wing for sprint qualifying (or "reverted back" as a former colleague used to say, tautologically).
Looks like Hadjar and Gasly exceeded track limits on their push laps so they've been struck off.
Norris doesn't improve on his previous time but Piastri and Russell do, demoting him to P5. Hamilton missed out on the chance for a final push lap there.
1m31.156s for Leclerc - he consolidates provisional pole position. But only for a few seconds as Verstappen goes through in 1m31.156s. Pole for Max!
His first in Singapore.
Leclerc also improving - a purple middle sector.
Hadjar already three tenths off his team-mate in the first sector.
Verstappen going purple in sector one.
Hamilton's really pushing here – the Ferrari is fishtailing all over the place. He crosses the line in 1m31.702s. P3!
The question now is what role will track evolution play? Will those who have left it late reap the rewards? They'll only have one lap in which to do it...
Three minutes left and Verstappen is leaving the garage.
1m31.568s for Leclerc - P1!
Russell can't beat it: 1m31.837s. Piastri then goes P2 to his team-mate with a 1m31.776s. That's 0.189s off Norris.
Antonelli through in 1m32.105s. Hamilton on an out-lap.
Norris is first to set a time: 1m31.587s.
Leclerc is on an out-lap but he will complete it before the others come round on their push laps.
Hamilton, Hadjar, Lawson and Gasly still yet to emerge.
Soft tyres for everyone, naturally. Apart from Max Verstappen! His car hasn't got any wheels on it at all, and it's up on its stands in the garage.
SQ3 IS GO
Norris, Russell, Piastri and Antonelli are first out onto the track.
So that's Colapinto, Hulkenberg, Bearman, Bortoleto, Alonso and Ocon out in SQ2. Just under a tenth in it between Gasly in P10 and Colapinto in P11.
Russell escapes! 1m32.614s puts him P4 and bunks Colapinto into P11.
Colapinto now does a 1m33.249s, pushing Russell into P11.
Hadjar goes P4 with 1m32.947s. That puts Russell into P10!
Leclerc's second flier is better than his first: 1m32.457s.
Russell really looking at risk here – just a few hundredths away from the cut-off.
Hadjar, Bortoleto, Alonso, Colapinto, Ocon and Bearman in the drop zone.
The cut-off is currently Hulkenberg's 1m33.420s.
Russell locks up after the Anderson bridge and has to abandon his second push lap. Hope his fillings are secure; he's going to have a rough ride on the next one.
Hulkenberg's time looked respectable, but he's been pushed down to P10. So, like Mel and Kim, perhaps he ain't ever going to be respectable.
Hamilton and Leclerc then annex the top! Leclerc does a 1m32.562s, Hamilton 0.105s shy of that.
Russell's middle sector didn't set the world alight and his lap is 1m33.387s. Antonelli immediately quicker with a 1m33.037s.
Kudos to Nico Hulkenberg: 1m33.420s is just a whisker off Russell.
Both Haas cars around 1.7s off Verstappen, as you might expect.
Verstappen's first push lap is a 1m32.724s. He had to pass both Ferraris on their out-laps.
Everyone now out on track, running new medium-compound Pirellis.
SQ2 IS GO
Verstappen, Bearman, Ocon and Hadjar are first to leave the pits as the 10-minute session begins.
SQ2 will start at 21:11 local, says race control.
Yes, word from the FIA. There was "an issue with timing systems".
"Some lap times had not been registered. That is now resolved and the current timings are considered correct. We are investigating whether we can proceed with the rest of the session."
We understand that there is some background issue causing the delay to SQ2. Antonelli and Leclerc have reported power delivery glitches and been told this is "an FIA issue".
The start of SQ2 has been delayed but no explanation forthcoming as yet.
The cut-off was Franco Colapinto's 1m35.048s.
Hamilton's original time of 1m33.748s was good for P4 overall - he didn't improve on his second run.
A very nervy final few minutes of SQ1 owing to that mid-session red flag.
Stroll, Bortoleto, Albon, Bottas, Sainz and Perez are eliminated in SQ1.
"I had a lot of front locking and no rear, combined," harrumphs Sainz.
Just Hadjar and Ocon left. Can they escape the drop zone? Yes - Ocon's 1m35.004s is good for P14 as Hadjar's 1m34.182s puts him P5. Russell improves to 1m33.573s.
That puts George P2 for now since Max Verstappen was fastest with 1m33.477s.
