Williams has shared a sneak peek of Lia Block's appearance on the upcoming Netflix series F1: The Academy.

The Drive to Survive-style docuseries is set for release on Netflix on May 28 and will consist of seven episodes. Ahead of its release, Williams shared a look at how its academy driver Block made her way from rally champion to the single-seater series.

Block explains in the clip from the show: "Motorsport is definitely my first love. When I was like five or six, I was like, 'Dad, look, I can touch the pedals!'"

The 18-year-old, who is the daughter of rally legend Ken Block, spoke about the influence he had on her career path.

"Watching my dad, being in race paddocks, it was a big part of my life, and I think it just made me know, 'oh yes, this is actually what I want to do,'" she continued.

"I was 15 when I did my first rally, and from there I won every rally 'til the end, and then won the championship. First female to ever do so.

"Yeah, I'm a girl, and I can still beat you," she added, with a smile.

"Rally and F1, yeah, they are under the motorsports umbrella but it's like comparing apples and oranges. It's so different. It's a different driving style. In rally, you are swinging the car around the corners, it's a race against time, but now trying F1 Academy and open-wheel, I kind of had to scrap everything and start over."

The American driver, who has experience competing in Rally, Extreme E, and Nitrocross, is currently in her second season of F1 Academy. She competes with ART Grand Prix with the support of the Williams F1 team.

F1: The Academy

After the staggering success of Netflix's Drive to Survive series on Formula 1, F1 Academy teamed up with the streaming service and Reese Witherspoon's production company, Hello Sunshine, to create the seven-part series.

The first series follows the drivers during the 2024 season, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at all of the on-track action.

It is set for release on 28 May.
