Harrison Scott seals Euroformula Open title at Monza

Harrison Scott has wrapped up the 2017 Euroformula Open title following his 10th victory of the season at Monza.

RP Motorsport driver Scott has been the dominant force of the year, winning all but two races and finishing outside the podium places only once.

Scott arrived in the sixth round of the season with a 151-point advantage over nearest rival Nikita Troitskiy, who has been consistently finishing on the podium for the Drivex team.

As has been the case all season, Scott continued to be untouchable at Monza, taking two lights-to-flag wins to seal the title with two rounds to spare.

Scott’s title win was made easier by Troitskiy suffering a puncture shortly after straight-lining the first chicane during Sunday's second race at the Italian track.

The Russian charged back through the field to finish sixth, but could do little to prevent Scott from clinching the title.

Despite a crash with countryman Tarun Reddy on Sunday, Carlin driver Ameya Vaidyanathan continues to hold third place in the standings.

Fortec's Jannes Fittje is just three points adrift after a double podium finish at Monza, while Devlin DeFrancesco, another member of the Carlin stable, is a further 18 points behind in fifth spot.
