Vaidyanathan completes Carlin's F3 line-up for rest of 2017
Indian racer Ameya Vaidyanathan will see out the 2017 European Formula 3 season with Carlin as the British team returns to a four-car line-up.
Vaidyanathan, 20, will make his European F3 race debut in the July 28-29 round at Spa-Francorchamps and is then to contest the four remaining rounds of the campaign.
At Carlin, he will partner title contender Lando Norris and fellow rookies Jehan Daruvala and Ferdinand Habsburg, taking over in the entry that was driven by the experienced Jake Dennis in the three opening rounds.
"I’m grateful to have such a massive opportunity to learn and improve as the year goes on," Vaidyanathan said. "The field has proven to be uber-competitive, but I’m determined to contribute to the team’s overall success."
The Indian has raced in various F3 categories with Carlin since the start of 2016 and currently sits third in his sophomore campaign in the Euroformula Open series.
Having taken a maiden win at Spa earlier in the year, he will likewise get to complete the season in Euroformula Open, as the series does not clash with European F3.
"We’re thrilled to welcome Ameya to our Formula 3 team for the rest of the season," Trevor Carlin said.
"He has been a real asset to our EuroFormula Open team and has really impressed us with his dedication, determination and results from the season so far."
