Stroll given race ban for causing Spa crash - video

Ferrari Academy driver Lance Stroll has been banned from the final European Formula 3 race of the weekend at Spa-Francorchamps for dangerous driving in Saturday's second race.

The 16-year-old Canadian triggered a huge three-way shunt at the Belgian track when fighting for the lead with Mikkel Jensen and Felix Rosenqvist, moving across the pair in the braking zone for Les Combes.

The decision to ban Stroll for the final race was made during a stewards' meeting on Saturday evening, with former Le Mans 24 Hours winner Emanuele Pirro on the panel for the first time.

Stroll had already been penalised for two incidents during the opening race, and was also deemed to have caused his frightening crash at Monza with Antonio Giovinazzi by moving across on the Italian.
