This weekend race the Austrian A1 Ring circuit will host the 7th appointment of the F3 Euro Series Championship. Having always reached the point zone and having finished the Nurburgring race1 in a superb 3rd position, Robert is going to A1 Ring with the hope for another podium finish, that could give him a boost in the Driver classification.

Last week the Dutch guy went to Spa to race the 19th and 20th Round of the British F3 championship with Team Menu Motorsport standing in for the injured Rob Austin. On his favourite circuit Robert was able to put his name in top 4 positions in free practice and then to snatch a fantastic POLE POSITION for Race2. "Everything went well for us," Robert had commented "I think this track suit me and my car. The second qualifying session was held on dry conditions and my Team menu did a fantastic job setting up the car. I just took three laps to set my 2:16.745 and take pole." "It is a fantastic day for me and the team," he continued "As I was able to give them their first pole, this year, which is also my first one!". The continuously changing weather and track conditions made any set up's strategies difficult, and the rain fallen down just five minutes before the start of Race2 did not help Robert to take full advantage from the moment he had a set up for dry track and rain tyres.

Even if Robert thought it would be possible to finish on podium, his approach to the Spa race can be valued as a positive debut as he was able to set fast lap times since Friday free, and then put Team Menu Dallara-Opel F3 on Pole position, ahead of 29 very competitive drivers.
