F3: Erik Janis to start from 9th row

Junior of Mercedes Benz Erik Janis is going to start tomorrow's F3 Euro Series race at Nurburgring from the 9th row. He set fifth time in the morning's practice but was only 18th in the afternoon's qualifying. The fight against clock was again very tight with 20 cars from 30 were covered within one second. The sort version of the German track starts the second half of the season. The Czech Mucke Motorsport driver enters the second half in the second position in the rookie standings.

Erik Janis: "I am very disappointed. I was fifth in the morning even though I did a mistake at the last corner which cost me one tenth but everything was different after the lunch. I feel so bad about it because I know that qualifying is the part of the game where I must raise the level. I do not know where the problem was. We have to check all the data with engineers. The surface was definitely different, after DTM tests and other series practices there was more rubber on it. Anyway, I am not using it as an excuse I am just thinking about it loudly."

Peter Mucke, Team Principal: "Unfortunately, Erik did not manage to succeed in the area where we have to improve most. It is shame. We must find a solution how to avoid this kind of problem next time."
