Difficult but instructive debut in F3 Euroseries

Frederic Vervisch entered the last round of the F3 Euroseries after receiving an invitation from the Italian team RC Motorsport. "The team asked me to do some development work on the car for the forthcoming season. From the moment I first sat in the Dallara F308-Volkswagen, I knew it would be difficult to get some good results. During qualifying we were hampered by engine troubles and an oil leak, losing some precious driving time", Vervisch, the winner of this years German and Asian competition, commented. At the start of race 1, Vervisch jumped straight from 27th to 18th place. But the car's handling was too bad to keep his rivals behind him. In the end he finished 19th. The start of the second race was chaotic and Vervisch was involved in two incidents in which he damaged the drive shaft, forcing him to retire after only one lap. "I want to thank the team for this possibility to race for them and, who knows, maybe we can do something in the F3 Euroseries next year", Frederic Vervisch said.
