Two weeks after his baptism in the F3 Euro Series on the Paul Ricard circuit inFrance, Antonio Felix da Costa will return to the track again next weekend, the Portuguese driver preparing to take part in the second round of the season on the legendary Hockenheim circuit on the 24 and 25th of April.
In a championship which is hailed as one of most competitive and formative for young drivers on the road to Formula One, Antonio is hoping to secure some more invaluable points at the wheel of his Dallara/Volkswagen.
Hockenheim is a circuit that the Portuguese driver and his team, MotoparkAcademy, know well after taking victory here in the Renault 2.0 NEC championship last year. The problems Antonio encountered at Paul Ricard should not slow down the progression of the Motopark/da Costa pairing and to make sure of this the team will carry out a test to check various adjustments this week, using different combinations of tyre pressures, a crucial factor in the performance of these cars.
For Antonio, these tests are of paramount importance... "We need to know exactly what went wrong in France and to change whatever we need to. Each team has two testing days per year at its disposal and we decided to use one already with the aim of fixing our problems. We don't have the opportunity to test many things during the race weekends and it is important to arrive at a meeting with your homework done. We must not forget this is the first time we are running in this series and with the Volkswagen engine, so we will only have success if we work hard,"explains Antonio.
As for his part in the upcoming race weekend, Antonio Felix da Costa is optimistic. "It is a track that I know very well after Formula Renault and this is an advantage because I won't need time to get to grips with the track. However, the team also has some nice references on this circuit and it will help them in their approach to the weekend. I think from these races on, our results will start to be much better. It doesn't cross my mind to live through another weekend like the first one of the season,"concluded Antonio.
