No Surprises

As anticipated, Brands Hatch' "Indy Circuit" proved inappropriate to F3 racing. Laps completed in 42 seconds, huge traffic in practice or qualifying and the lack of overtaking opportunity were the major problems that the 24-car field had to face during the fourth meeting of the season.

"I knew the week-end would be difficult" said Signature-Plus driver Guillaume Moreau. "Unlike most of the other top teams, we had no data available concerning Brands. Our cars have never been fast enough, and we have been struggling for pace throughout the week-end."

Guillaume did his best to compensate behind the wheel of his car. He recovered from 16th to 12th in Saturday's race, and a flying start on Sunday allowed him to climb from 13th to 8th. And back to the pitlane for a "drive through" penalty. "Then I set the 5th fastest lap, faster than the top 5 finishers. It doesn't pay points, but I remain 100% positive and highly motivated, looking forward to racing at Norisring and Zandvoort."

The German street circuit of Nüremberg (July 22/23) is famous for rewarding those who brake later than late. Two weeks later (August 6), Guillaume will return to Zandvoort, the place where he took his maiden Formula 3 win in 2005, for one of the most exciting events of the season: the "Ultimate Masters".
