Spengler Back in Action
Montreal, Canada, July 28, 2004 -- The road circuit of the Nurburgring, Germany will be the stage of the next two rounds of the Euro Formula 3 Series. Canadian race car driver Bruno Spengler will be back in action after a four-week break.
A member of the Mercedes-Benz Junior Team and a driver of the Mucke Motorsport F3 team, Spengler -- 20 years old -- climbed on the podium for the first time this season in the earlier race held in Magny-Cours at the Grand Prix of France on July 4th. "This podium finish was the satisfying result of very hard work to make the car run faster and to suit it better to my driving style," said Spengler, the ambassador of the prestigious Casino of Montreal and of the Parc Omega -- a park for wild animals located in Montebello, Quebec. "We spent hours analysing the data recorded in my race car and we gradually changed its set-up. I am much more comfortable now and I can push it to the limits. I must admit that every tenth of a second is crucial in Formula 3. One can hardly imagine how competitive this series is."
The next two races held at the Nurburgring are very important for Spengler. "I scored many points during the last few races and I gained places in the standings," he said. "My objective is to continue to qualify at the front of the field and to score as many points as possible until the end of the season."
The circuit on which the Formula 3 cars will race this weekend is not the Grand Prix track used by the F1 cars. "We will race on a shorter version of the track which I like very much. There are two fast corners but the average speed is not that high. This track is very similar to Magny-Cours," the young Canadian concluded.
