Erik Janis starting in eleventh row at Brands Hatch
The eleventh row, that is the position for Erik Janis to start at British circuit Brands Hatch in tomorrow's race of Formula 3 Euro Series. The qualifying at the short version of a famous British circuit was split into two groups of drivers. A Czech young man of Mucke Motorsport Team ended up in eleventh in his group of even starting numbers. Mercedes Benz Junior is disappointed, nevertheless, he takes today's result as a particular tax for his premiere at a very specific track.
Erik Janis: "Unfortunately, the qualifying was not what I'd imagined. I did my best but it doesn't seem enough. The short version of Brands Hatch circuit is very unique, I'm for the first time here, and I couldn't probably be better. I followed my team colleague Mika Maki, who is far in the front in the championship, to help myself a bit but it wasn't enough. Mika ended up two places before me. It's his first time here too, and that is our tax, I guess. An almost two kilometers long circuit offers a minimum of opportunities to overtake, so tomorrow's chances are really disappearing."
Peter Mucke, Team Principal: "Erik was good in free practice, however, the qualifying did not end up better than the eleventh position. I think that as a tax for the unfamiliarity of an extraordinary track at Brands Hatch. Mika Maki, being the third in the championship continuous compounding, did not succeed either. It's the first time here for both though."
