Schneider, Cindric land Bathurst seats

Bernd Schneider and Austin Cindric are among an all-star six-driver line-up that Erebus will field at the Bathurst 12 Hour.

Veteran Schneider will return to Mount Panorama for a crack at more Bathurst glory, the five-time DTM champion having won the 12 Hour back in 2013.

He will be joined in the #63 SLS AMG GT3 by former Erebus V8 driver Maro Engel, and 17-year-old American Austin Cindric, son of Team Penske president Tim Cindric.

The #36 Erebus entry will be led by the team’s new V8 Supercars star David Reynolds, who will team up with another driver from the ’13 winning line-up Thomas Jäger, and ADAC GT Masters driver Nico Bastian.

“Bernd’s resume speaks for itself,” said Erebus’s Barry Ryan.

“He’s accomplished so much in his career including five DTM Championships and wins at many international GT endurance races, including with us at the 12 Hour.

“It’s always a privilege to welcome such a great motorsport champion into our team, and we always learn from Bernd in some way.

“We’re confident that this year we’ve put together our best line-up ever.

“We’ve had fantastic combinations in the past, but we believe the blend of maturity and youth in the #63, and the experience in the #36, will maximise the performance of the cars.”
