Luff leads amateur practice at Bathurst

Warren Luff topped the amateur-only opening practice session for the Bathurst 12 Hour.

The former V8 Supercars full-timer hung around the top of the time sheets for the entirety of the 30-minute session, first putting the Objective Racing McLaren top just over 10 minutes in with a 2m06.727s.

He then improved to a low 2m06s with a little over 10 minutes remaining, before setting the benchmark time in the closing minutes with a 2m03.779s.

That left him more than a second clear of the #36 Erebus Mercedes, Nico Bastian finishing second with a 2m04.825s.

Marco Mapelli was third fastest in the Jamec Pem Audi, falling just short of the P2 time with a 2m04.884s.

Andy Soucek was fourth fastest for Bentley, Austin Cindric fifth for Erebus, with the #6 Tekno McLaren in sixth.
