Jamec Pem Audi still on top at Mount Panorama

The #74 Audi R8 continues to set the pace at the Bathurst 12 Hour, topping its second practice session in a row at Mount Panorama.

It didn’t take long for the pace to dip under 2m04s mark, Christopher Haase setting a 2m03.865s in the #74 car before the half-way mark of the 90-minute session.

That time stood until late in the session when Haase’s team-mate Christopher Mies lowered the benchmark to a 2m03.500s – clearly the fastest time of the day so far.

The #59 Tekno McLaren finished the session second fastest thanks to a 2m03.933s set by Shane van Gisbergen, while the #36 Erebus Mercedes also dipped into the threes with a 2m03.997s from David Reynolds.

The Objective McLaren was fourth fastest with a 2m04.042 from Tim Slade, with the second Jamec Pem back in fifth.

Class B was led by the Grove Porsche, while the lone Daytona Sportscar Coupe in the field lead the way in Class I.

After stoppage-free first and second sessions, there were three seperate red flags this time around.

The first came early, when Nicholas Rowe fired the #94 MARC Mazda into the wall. Christer Joens did the same in the Hallmark Audi half and hour later to spark a second red, while the final stoppage happened just four minutes from the end when #93 MARC Focus stopped on track.
