Eric Bana back to Bathurst

Star Trek star to take part in the Bathurst 12 Hour.

Another Hollywood star will be taking to the track next month, as Eric Bana suits up to take on the Bathurst 12 Hour.

Running a Laborghini Gallardo LP520, with the number 99 on the side, he will be joined by Peter Hill and Simon Middleton.

This will be Bana’s third time running this race. His team led the event in 2011 before an incident on track took them out.

"I can't wait to get back to the circuit," Bana told FoxSports.

"The car is fantastic to drive, and the thought of competing once again with a couple of mates at this event is very exciting.”

The car was featured on Bana’s twitter late last year when himself and former F1 star Mark Webber announced they would run a Porsche at the hallmark event in 2015.

Bana is well known for his roles on Star Trek and the Hulk, as well as acting in the new film Lone Survivor.

While the film star has held the overall lead at Bathurst before, he is running in Class B this year, looking for a class victory.

The Bathurst 12 Hour runs February 7-9.
