Encouraging race for the works team LC70 cars and 2nd place for the Swiss LC70!

After 2 hours leading the race at Spa and a battle with the championship leader, the Courage LC70 MUGEN ADVAN n°12 stopped at the exit of the pit lane after the 2nd pit stop. Investigation showed that the IPU had stopped working and has now been sent back to the supplier for further investigation as the other LC70's in the race haven't encountered that problem. For the n°13 car the race was over after a GT-car hit it in the back sending it off in the barriers.

Yves Courage : " I'm disappointed as both cars haven't finished the race. We started to show the potential of our package by leading the race. Losing the n°12 on an electronic failure is hard as we really don't understand what could have happened. For the n°13 car we will call it a race incident but it's still hard to swallow as we lost the opportunity to collect more valuable date for the next races. We will continue to develop the chassis/engine/tire package further and with what we saw today it's certain that we will be racing for victory soon ."

It wasn't all that bad at Spa for Courage as a manufacturer as the Swiss Spirit Courage LC70 finished 2nd of the race. Yves Courage :" Yes that's the positive part, second race, pole position and second place in the race, is great for the Swiss Spirit team, congratulations to them. It shows that our LC70 is already reliable and can only progress a lot in the near future".

Courage C65 clients

The Barazi-Epsilon C65 finished 4th in the LMP2 class although they have suffered some engine misfiring during the race which didn't give them the possibility to defend really their chances. They are still leading the Le Mans Series LMP2 Championship.

The n°36 car of Belmondo racing finished 5th in the class. The n°37 car withdrew after 2 hours. The Kruse car has suffered an engine problem right before the start and couldn't race at all.

The local favorites, G-Force, were in the middle of the big crash at the start of the race. We are happy to hear that their driver is ok now and that the team is doing all they can to be present at Le Mans.
