Stefan Mucke at LMS-Season opening in Lola-Aston Martin on start - 8-hour-race of Le Castellet as preparation for Le Mans
Berlin (rol) The Champion returns: Last years champion Stefan Mucke from Germany will be on track at season opening of the Le Mans Series (LMS) coming weekend (9th to 11th of April) at the high-speed-track at French Le Castellet. The Berlin is sharing the cockpit of the closed LMP1-Sportscar-Prototype Lola-Aston Martin with the Mexican Adrian Fernandez and the Switzerland Harold Primat at the 8-hour-race starting Sunday, 11th of April, 11 am. Together with his two Aston-Martin-Works driver-Colleagues Stefan Mucke surprisingly occupied 3rd place on 21st of March 2010 at his premiere in the 12-hour-race of Sebring at US-federal state of Florida. At season opening of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) he was the best German driver and drove the fastest petrol car.
^AAt Le Castellet the competition with the diesel cars from Peugeot and Audi will be even bigger, so it's almost not manageable to gain a place on the podium", tells the sports car-pilot from Berlin. ^ABut he race is long-term, which offers a lot of surprises. And maybe we can even tease the favorised Diesel-cars a little. Anyway I am looking forward to my start at Le Castellet, that will be a good preparation for the 24-hour-race of Le Mans middle of June as well", adds the 28 year old Stefan Mucke.
From Le Castellet Stefan Mucke will travel immediately to the United Arabic Emirates on Monday (12th of April), where the season opening of the new FIA GT1 World Championship on 17th and 18th of April is scheduled at the new track Yas Marina. The former DTM(German Touring Car Championship)-driver will line up for the Team Young Driver AMR (Paderborn/Copenhagen) and is in pilot with the Danish Christoffer Nygaard in the Aston Martin DBR9. The world-championship contains ten racing-weekends.
