Broken bolt denies Vann 2nd place.

A broken suspension bolt 2 hours into the Monza 1000 Km race cost Birminghams Christian Vann second place. The bolt broke at the end of Jean Marc Gounons stint, wrecking a tyre and costing the team 8 laps while they repaired the car. Firstly Alex Frei, then for the last two hours Christian set about catching up, Christian moving the car from 11th 2 hours before the end up to 6th overall at the finish, and 4th place in LMP1 class.

The car was twelve laps down on the leader at the end, but only 7 laps behind 2nd place Zytek. Christian commented, "Without losing those 8 laps we would have comfortably taken 2nd place, in some ways 4th is great, but it still hurts to miss out on taking our first podium together, my sponsors, Trafigura seemed to enjoy it, hopefully at Silverstone we can give them the result they deserve"

The team now look forward to the Silverstone round on the weekend of 14 /15th August.
