Jota leads Gibson 1-2 in Silverstone practice

Jota Sport topped the times in the first practice session of the 2015 European Le Mans Series at Silverstone this morning.

Harry Tincknell set the time of 1m49.826s in the new-look Gibson-Nissan, which incorporates significant aero-upgrades this season.

Tincknell, who claimed pole here in the corresponding race last season, shares the cockpit with Filipe Albuquerque and Simon Dolan. Tincknell's pole time from 2014 was a 1m47.702s.

Greaves made it a Gibson one-two at the front of the field with Greaves Motorsport setting the best time of 1m50.827, which was 1.001s off Tincknell's best. Jon Lancaster, Bjorn Wirdheim and Gary Hirsch share the car this season.

The No.81 AF Corse Ferrari was quickest in the LMGTE class with Michele Rugolo setting the best time.

TDS BMW led the way in GTC with former Toyota F1 test driver Franck Perera peaking on a 2m03.082s lap. Perera shares with Dino Lunardi and Eric Dermont.

The only major incident came halfway through the 90-minute session when Ivan Bellarosa left the track in the Ibanez Oreca 03.

The second session begins at 14.10 local time.
