Algarve pulls out of ELMS season opener, removed from Le Mans reserves list

The team plans to do more testing at Estoril in the weeks to come.

As previously stated by Motorsport.com, the Portuguese team will not be racing in the opening round at Silverstone. The team cited budget issues as the reason, the team is opting out of their original plans to rul a full season in their Ligier JS P2 Nissan.

The team acquired an ex-Thiriet by TDS Racing prototype for the 2015 campaign and ran strong in the pre-season test at Paul Ricard. The LMP2 has since been removed from the list of reserves for the 24 Hours at Le Mans.

The Four Hours at Silverstone will take place this weekend on April 11th, kicking off the five-race championship.

SMP issues

SMP Racing encountered their own issues with the BR01 not ready for race-action due to the homologation required to be completed 30 days before taking part in an official event. The team, racing under the AF Corse banner, will field Oreca 03R Nissans for Silverstone, but expect to switch back to the BR01 for Imola.
