Renger van der Zander Zandvoort Qualifying Report

Renger van der Zande has qualified eleventh for his home DTM race at Zandvoort, giving his fans something to cheer about. The Dutchman was delighted with his performance after ending the day as the fastest man with the older Mercedes chassis.

"I'm very happy," van der Zande commented. "And I have every right to be so. We have got the most out of the car here. The old Mercedes cars do not have the speed to really fight at the front, so eleventh place as the fastest older car is really good. I’m enjoying myself here."

As Zandvoort is van der Zande’s home race there are a lot of PR activities for the 25-year-old to fulfull, but he is taking the events in his stride. "I'm very busy, but I just walk with a smile on my face," he added.

"I am surrounded by friends, family, and many Dutch fans. It is fantastic."
