British driver Adam Carroll completed his first full DTM race in 9th place today at Oschersleben in Germany. Starting from 14th on the grid, the rookie Team Futurecom-TME driver kept out of trouble and steered his 2005 Audi A4 through the experienced field and nearly into the points.

Adam, from Portadown in Northern Ireland, came into the pits just 6 laps into the physically demanding 44 lap race. After running in the top 4 for much of the middle stint, he came in for his 2nd compulsory pit-stop with 16 laps to go and all to play for. He went on to finish a strong 9th place and was understandably happy with his performance.

"It is really good to complete my first DTM race – and my first race in 9 months. It was pretty tough out there and I was surprised how hot it gets in the car! I had to stay out for a long time on the tyres and the car was moving around a lot," said Adam.

"I had a real battle with Alex Margaritis – he was giving me a bit of hassle but I managed to keep him behind me and I am pleased with 9th postion."

The race was won by former DTM Champion Gary Paffett, with fellow Brit Paul Di Resta in 2nd place. Third went to Audi's Mike Rockenfeller. The next round of DTM is in 2 weeks at the EuroSpeedway, Lausitz (20 May).
