Bernd Schneider set the fastest time at Adria on Thursday, the Mercedes driver clocking a quickest of 1:11.80 ahead of fellow Mercedes man Christijan Albers. Jean Alesi and Thomas Jager follwed on and the sole Opel of Timo Scheider was bottom of the times, nearly a second slower.

"I am very impressed with this modern facility," said Schneider of the Adria circuit. "I'm happy to come to Italy and have good memories of the DTM and GT racing at Mugello."

Jean Alesi took over for the final day of the test, setting a best of 1:11.50 ahead of Schneider, Albers and Jager. Manuel Reuter and Joachim Winkelhock were on track for Opel, Reuter the faster of the pair.

"For me today's test was a personal success," said Mercedes' Alesi. "We are happy with our work. I'm very happy that the DTM will be in Italy, I hope lots of fans come to the Adria International Raceway beacuse I believe they will see an exciting fight on this interesting track."

Abt-Audi already finished it's testing on Wednesday, with Peter Terting and Karl Wendlinger. The next test will be at Hockenheim on 7th and 8th April, prior to the presentation on the 9th and the first race is April 27th, also at Hockenheim.
