11th PLACE FINISH IN DTM AFTER CONFUSION AND COLLISION

British driver Adam Carroll finished in 11th position at the EuroSpeedway in Lausitz, Germany after race chaos and a collision took away his chances of scoring his first points finish in the series. It was a muddled race with many drivers unhappy about the overall result. Starting from 12th on the grid, the rookie Team Futurecom-TME driver had an eventful race in his 2005 Audi A4. He and fellow Brit Jamie Green tangled on lap 28.

Adam came into the pits whilst the safety car was deployed, for the second time in the race and came back out in 13th position. The 24 year old, from Portadown in Northern Ireland, made a solid start – pitting early just 6 laps into the 48 lap race.

The first safety car interruption came after Marcus Winkelhock hit the tyre barrier after a coming together with Mercedes driver Mathias Lauda. Adam continued to run in the top ten for the middle stint of the race, before Green and he collided. "I could see Jamie in my mirrors and I thought he was going to try and pass but the next thing I knew he hit me from behind and I spun. I was aware of the confusion going on during the race and that is why I didn't pit under the safety car but many other drivers did. I had hoped the result would be changed but it's not so we must move on!" said Adam.

Mercedes filled all three steps on the podium with the race being won by former F1 World Champion Mika Hakkinen. The next round of DTM is Adam's home round at Brands Hatch, UK (10 June).
