Joey Hand and BMW part ways

After a lengthy relationship with BMW, Joey Hand's future is now unknown.

Joey Hand will go in search of 'new challenges' in 2015, or at least that's what a release from BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt said. "We would like to thank him for the great commitment he has shown to BMW in recent years, and wish him all the best for the future," he also added.

After three seasons as the lone American in DTM (German Touring Car) competitor, Hand will head down a new path in 2015. He has been associated with BMW for some time, competing with the marque in DTM, at Le Mans, and in American sports car racing for a number of years. He tweeted about the news himself, hinting that there is something promising in the works for him moving forward, but he will no longer be a BMW factory driver it seems.
