Already in his third race, the new Audi A4 DTM celebrated its first victory. During the visit of the DTM in Italy at the Adria International Raceway near Venice, Mattias Ekström was the superior driver. During the thrilling qualifying, the 25-year-old Swede secured pole position, took the lead with a great start and controlled the speed during the entire race. With his second career DTM victory Ekström closed the gap in the championship and is now only two points behind Christijan Albers.
Another Audi triumph in Sweden
This weekend, the Audi A4 did not only succeed at Adria: In the fourth round of the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) at Falkenberg, Fredrik Ekblom clinched the victory with his Audi A4 STCC and moved to second position in the point standings. After place five in the third round, the reigning champion proved his fighting spirit in the next race: After he had fallen back in the beginning of the race he fought his way back into the lead and achieved his first win in the 2004 season.
