THANKLESS WEEKEND AT BRANDS HATCH

British driver Adam Carroll finished his home round of DTM in 16th position, the same place where he started on the grid despite running in the top 6 for the majority of the race. Temperatures soared into the mid 20's during the hour long event but the heat was on for Adam to score his first point in the series.

Sadly this weekend it was not to be. At the start, the 24 year old from Northern Ireland, made two places but it was to be short lived, as cars around him crashed out. Despite avoiding the tangle, Adam went into the gravel and lost a couple of places. Throughout the race he worked his way up to as high as 4th before his 2 mandatory pit-stops. But a drive through penalty for 3 miles per hour over the pit-lane speed limit put paid to his best result of the season so far.

"I made a good start and moved through the field but Paul Di Resta and Mike Rockenfeller went off and I ended up in the gravel too. I pushed as hard as I could throughout the race but my tyres didn't last long and I was struggling to stay on track. I kept pushing very hard and managed to keep the Mercedes at bay. My pit stops went well but it was a real shame I got the drive through penalty."
