Audi re-captures lead in the DTM
DTM: With a second place at Mugello (Italy), Mattias Ekstrom re-captured the DTM lead for Audi. After six of ten races, the Swede from Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline has a 6.5-point advantage to title defender Bernd Schneider. However, after the dominant qualifying performance with grid positions one to five, many racing incidents prevented Audi from taking the possible win. Mike Rockenfeller, Alexandre Premat and Tom Kristensen were three further Audi drivers to score points.
Audi driver Thed Bjork wins at Falkenberg
STCC: The drivers of the Audi A4 STCC showed a strong team performance in the Falkenberg round of the Swedish Touring Car Championship: Thed Bjork started from pole position and won in commanding style. Frank Stippler and Tommy Kristoffersson completed the result finishing fifth and eighth.
Gianni Morbidelli celebrates at Misano
Superstars: In the fourth round of the Italian Superstars Championship at Misano, Gianni Morbidelli scored his second successive win of the season in the Audi RS 4. Giorgio Sanna completed the result for Audi finishing third. Former Formula 1 driver Morbidelli climbed from sixth two second position in the championship, just six points adrift of the championship leader.
