Two places on the podium for Audi at the DTM opener
At a thrilling opening to the DTM season at Hockenheim, 104,000 spectators were eyewitness to an excellent Audi team performance. The performances of both Tom Kristensen and Heinz-Harald Frentzen were particularly impressive: The pair carved their way through the field from grid positions nine and eight to clinch second and third at the chequer helped by a good strategy and perfect pit-stops. As a result, Frentzen claimed a podium position first time out in his first race with the Audi A4 DTM.
Difficult start to season in Italy
The Audi RS 4 debut in the Italian Superstars touring car series did not go according to plan. The two new cars entered by the Audi Sport Italia team were affected by "teething problems". Dindo Capello and Giorgio Sanna both retired during the first-half of the race due to technical problems.

SEAT celebrate three victories at BTCC opener
SEAT made a terrific start to the British Touring Car Championship. Newcomer James Thompson won the first two rounds in Brands Hatch, his British countryman and team mate Jason Plato rounded off the marque's successful weekend with the third victory of the day. Thompson is championship leader with 37 points and holds a seven point advantage over his closest rival, Plato is fourth overall.
Rene Rast first winner of the season
The new SEAT Leon Supercopa, which produces 300 hp, also made its race debut in front of packed grandstands in Hockenheim. After the first round on Saturday had to be cancelled due to problems with a supplier's component, Rene Rast was the first driver to claim a victory. Florian Gruber and Marcus Steinel finished in second and third positions.
