The boss of Audi DTM squad Phoenix Racing has described the ongoing coronavirus situation as the “worst crisis” in his team’s 20-year history.

ITR chairman Gerhard Berger has ruled out DTM hosting races without spectators, even as the coronavirus crisis is expected to prevent mass gatherings of any kind for several months.

The organisers of the Norisring DTM event have requested more time to decide if their event can go ahead as planned in July. Due to the added complexity of hosting a street race, the event's future is uncertain.

BMW motorsport director Jens Marquardt is “honoured” that IndyCar driver Robert Wickens wants to drive one of the marque’s DTM cars, although organising a test is not currently possible.
