SEGUIN, Tex-The Texas Quick 8 Racing Association will have its second race of it's eight race series, The Texas Quick 8 Point Series Shootout, this Saturday at River City Raceway in Seguin. Highlighting the show will be the 2500+ horsepower Outlaw Pro Mods. In conjunction with the Pro Mod race, River City Raceway will conduct its normal bracket race program.

Brownsville, Texas' Bobby Booth is coming fresh off a win at last week's Outlaw Pro Mod Showdown at Houston Raceway Park, the first race in the series. Booth wheeled his blown 37 Chevy Coupe to a 4.167 (eighth mile e.t.) last week en route to his win, just two-hundredths off of Gaylen Smith's TQ8 record of 4.141 set last year at Lonestar Raceway Park. Booth appears to be the favorite going into this weekend's race.

Booth will not have an easy path to a River City win. Frankie "the Madman" Taylor will be his main threat this weekend. Taylor has two wins to his credit this year in his blown 2000 Firebird, and will be a force to be reckoned with. Not to be counted out as well is last weeks runner up Chuck Nuytten's 63 Corvette, Gaylen Smith's "Texas Bounty Hunter" 94 Camaro, and Phillip Muse's blown 63 Corvette. Muse has run as quick as a 4.15, and is returning from a crash in Houston in January.

The gates will open at noon, and the first TQ8 Pro Mod qualifying session will be at 4 p.m. Tickets at the gate will be $15.00.
