WALLY STROUPE HOPES TO JOIN IHRA/SNAP-ON TOOLS SERIES SOON

KINGS MOUNTAIN, NC Three months ago, Wally Stroupe found himself a resident of the Tampa Burn Center in Tampa, Florida. His stay was the result of second and third degree burns suffered during Pro Modified qualifying at the Prolong Winter Nationals in Bradenton, Florida. He hasn't driven a race car since that fiery intake explosion and it is about to drive him crazy. The Trim Parts sponsored driver is itching to get back into competition.

"I'm not going to sugarcoat anything and tell you that things have been all peachy keen here," said Stroupe. "We have gone through some tough times here, that in the long run will make us all stronger. I want to say thanks to all of my friends, family and Trim Parts for sticking with me through these trying times. I am ready to go physically, I am just waiting on my car to get finished."

Stroupe's initial projections were to rejoin the series as early as Cordova at the Summer Nationals. It now appears that delays in getting the bodywork completed on his burned racer are not going to be completed in time for the next two events. Fans of Stroupe's 1963 Corvette should look for Stanton, Michigan's IHRA Northern Nationals to mark his triumphant return.

All hasn't been for the worse, however. Stroupe's wife Gina gave birth to a baby boy last month which has shed tremendous joy among his parents and the grandparents, Barry and Barbara Stroupe as well.
