WoO Lasoski sets track record at Rocky Mountain
Danny Lasoski picked up his 10th Quick Time of the season Tuesday, circling the semi-banked, 3/8-mile oval at Rocky Mountain National Speedway in a record time of 12.014 seconds. Lasoski has also earned track records this season at Las Vegas and Lawrenceburg, Ind.
Lasoski went on to finish fourth in the A-main. In addition, Tim Shaffer and Daryn Pittman, both drivers of Mopar-powered vehicles, won their respective heat races; the drivers finished 10th and 13th, respectively, in the A-main.
The Outlaws now travel to Billings (Mont.) Motorsports Park for action Friday and Saturday.
Rick Jones drives Dodge to semifinals at U.S. 131
"We're in fifth place in points now and only a few rounds out of first,"
Jones said. "We're happy with the final round appearance at Martin, but
we're going to continue to work towards that number one spot."

Rick Jones, who builds chassis for several Team Mopar drag racers, drove his own Quarter Max Dodge Stratus into the final round of IHRA Pro Stock competition last Saturday night at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Mich. On his way to the money round against Frank Gugliotta, Jones eliminated Dwayne Rice, Elijah Morton and Robert Patrick.
It was Jones' second final round appearance of the season. In mid-July, Jones notched a victory at the IHRA Motor City Nationals in Milan, Mich.
Last season, Jones broke a 24-year IHRA victory drought for Dodge when he put his Quarter Max Neon into Victory Lane at San Antonio. His company, Rick Jones Race Cars, also builds the chassis for all three Team Mopar Pro Stock entries in the NHRA POWERade series, along with dozens of other doorslammers.
