IRONHORSE FALLS SHORT AT EMPIRE NATIONALS

LEICESTER, NY—- Veteran Pro Modified racer Johnny Rocca fell short in his bid to qualify at the IHRA Carquest Empire Nationals. The Leesburg, Virginia based driver was forced to abort his only two afforded sessions due to severe tireshake during the course of the run. Instead of pushing the car to perform under those conditions, he did the smart thing and chose to click the car off.

Pro Modified qualifying was limited to two sessions in one day due to tremendous amounts of rain that forced the event to be shortened to one day of qualifying and one day for eliminations. This disappointment comes on the heels of two memorable accomplishments for Rocca. Last week, he qualified for the first time ever in the Ironhorse in IHRA competition and most recently, Rocca was the subject of a full-color feature in USA Today.

Rocca's next outing will be in three weeks in Stanton, Michigan during the IHRA Northern Nationals.
