Leicester, New York - All eyes were on the Canadians this weekend as they proved they could fly with the fast guys. During the final round of qualifying, the heavy hitters in Mountain Motor Pro Stock came out to watch John Konigshofer as he was the last one that could possible dethrone the number one man. They came very close with a 6.65 seconds to put them solidly in the number four position.

Aaron Polburn, VP of IHRA, said it best during the attempt, that if these guys could get a solid sponsor they are more than capable of being in the number one spot.

The teams came close to not attending the event but with the help of engine builder John Kaase, who has all the faith of them in the world, were able to compete this past weekend. The Konigshofers have suffered some major setbacks this season due to mechanical gremlins early in the season but they are a determined bunch of guys who have what it takes to go fast and win.

Konigshofer went into the first round of competition with an elapsed time advantage over their opponent, but due to some sever tire shake, had to forfeit the win. Fans of IHRA Pro Stock can look forward to the Konigshofers continuing to turn out fast times and go some rounds during the next series of national events. This event can be seen on Speedvision, August 4 at 8:00 and 11:00 PM.
