LEICESTER, NY- Dale Brinsfield doesn't want to win every race, he just wants to feel competitive.

Brinsfield an import auto mechanic from Greensboro, NC was hoping the recent rule revision in Pro Modified could benefit his nitrous assisted nitrous assisted Black 67' Camaro. With the new rules being set to slow down the supercharged teams, Brinsfield's nitrous team felt they had a fighting chance.

"We may not have won, but that's okay," explained Brinsfield. "I was happy that we had the opportunity to be a key player in the final eliminations. Pro Modified is a tough class to police, but it's also an exciting class for the fans to watch. It's also plenty exciting for us in the cars."

During the first qualifying session held on Friday, Brinsfield was able to place run a 6.467/217.23 placing him temporarily in the seventh spot. For the second session Brinsfield stepped up running a 6.44/217.60 putting him in the ninth spot. The third qualifying session was cancelled when rain set in.

In round one of eliminations, Brinsfield faced off against fellow nitrous assisted driver Brian Gahm. Brinsfield cut a better light (.486 to a .508), but Gahm was able to outrun the black Camaro by the slightest of margins. Gahm took the win with a 6.464/214.89 to Brinsfield's 6.518/216.45.

"The Man In Black" Brinsfield will try for another shot at Pro Mod supremacy at the upcoming Carquest Northern National at the mid Michigan Motorplex on Aug. 4-6.
